so,this medical clinic my husband and i go to has this annoying habit of scheduling things without asking. we were sitting watching tv today, when his phone rang. "this is a reminder that X has an appointment to see doctor whoopdedo on friday, yadda yadda, call to confirm".. i looked at him..what appointment? i didn't schedule any. he didn't either. so of course i had to stop what i was doing and cancel it-cause i'm not getting hit with a 100 buck "missed time" fee. oh wait.i bet that's it. let's sneak one in so we can charge you. really? these places don't make enough? first of all,i think WE should be able to bill them back when they cancel in less than 24 hours themselves..or keep you waiting over an hour.. the funny thing is,when i actually WANT an appointment, i get something 3 weeks to a month in. IF their lazy asses call back. i wish i could change the place, but with medicaid you gotta take where they have. i suppose at least we have insurance..*sigh*.

@scarlet_woman Did they give you any confirmation about the appointment? There are times that they give calls or note before the appointment

@tech40 they call and tell you to confirm.that's why i cancelled. cause if you miss it,there's a fee for that too.

No, you don't have to take it, talk to your insurance company and complain about it. I have medicaid as well and this hasn't happened to me yet thankfully.

Maybe that's how they get money from rescheduling without asking first.

I think you should charge them for scheduling an appointment without your consent. That is just nuts.
