Pregnancy tests look for the hormone hCG, either in the blood or the urine. It is given off by the fertilized ova, and if the level is too low, as in very early pregnancy, it may not yet be detected. The amount triples every few days, and the best and earliest detection of it is through a pregnancy blood test. These have to be ordered by a Doctor, PA, etc, in order to be done. Usually they are not ordered until the first missed period. It is around this time, shortly after, that most over-the-counter urine tests can detect it in the urine. I dicovered i was pregnant with my 2nd son before my period was even due. Because of some early symptoms, and medication i was taking, i was able to talk my OB/GYN into ordering the test for me so soon. And, alas, the blood test did detect it that soon. Sometimes, even if the monthly period is late, and you are indeed pregnant, there will still be what feels like 'menstraul cramping', yet that hormone tells the body not to 'shed' the monthly lining of the uterus. My advice would be to buy some over-the-counter pregnancy tests, esp ones that are 'early-detecting' of hCG (First Response is one brand), and if you suspect you may be, if you cannot wait, try taking one each morning close to the time your period is due..to 'catch' it as early as possible. When one does appear to be positive, call your Doctor for a blood test to definately confirm it. Meanwhile, in attempting to become pregnant, eat healthy and even supplement yourself with a daily multi-vitamin. After you are indeed pregnant, your Doctor will most likely switch you to a pre-natal vitamin. Folic acid is esp important during that early time to prevent spina-bifida in the quickly developing embryo.. Good Luck to You~!

I truly agree with you. It is only You who knows what is going on in your life so based on it it is up to you to find out if you are pregnant or not. We do not know what you have been upto gal.

if you both are ready to have a new baby in ur family. Then go a head but keep in mind that you need to fulfill all the requirements of having a new baby

Interesting on how so many suggestions came about five years ago and yet the member did not comment back. So by now she either had a baby or two, but we will never know for sure as I am sure there is no chance of the member coming back now though. I wish her best of luck.

I wouldn't go by the symptoms. For some women, the sore boobs, cramps, etc could be pms coming. I wouldn't go on a late period, unless your about 2 months late. I missed a period once, freaked me out big time. Come to find out it had something to do with my hormones.

you can find out the day of your period and some will tell 4 days before your period!
