Inconsiderate smokers...

I really feel very irritated when people smoke while walking without even considering that there are also people walking behind them. It is because people behind them end up inhaling all those smoke when they blow their smoke while walking. I just can't understand why a lot of smokers are very inconsiderate and it happens really often. If they don't care about their lungs at least don't cause inconvenience to other people around them. Would it be better if people stop somewhere if they want to smoke just to show courtesy to other people around them? I don't think it is really that hard to do. Or would it rather be better to just ban smoking instead? Despite the high levy imposed on cigarettes by the government to discourage people from smoking, it still does not stop people from smoking. Not to generalize all smokers because i know a few people who are really considerate when they go for a smoke, and they would find a place where they won't cause inconvenience to others when they smoke. What do you think about this? Do you think there is a good solution for this?

@cyclopz I don't really think much of it. Like you said, if they wish to harm their lungs then they can sadly go ahead but being around a group of people who wish to be healthy, then that just sucks. Banning smoking wouldn't be an easy task. I think the best non smokers can do is just simply walk in another direction.

I wouldn't mind walking on the side, but then on a busy morning there is not much space on the footpath to walk on. Sometimes i would have to run so that i could get ahead of them to be able to walk in front of them. It is just bothersome that they don't care about the people walking behind them. It is quite similar to using the toilet and not flushing it afterwards and not caring about the next person who is going to use it after you. But then again, the next person always has that option to use another toilet if they don't like it.

I'm a smoker but I always think other people before taking a stick! I need to make sure that I'm on a place where no one can smell smoke. It also helps me to lesser my smoking habits

@TheHorse I agree people have a desire to keep on smoking everywhere like outside of the restaurant beside the mall, or on the street, anywhere!

Yes, being considerate, I'm less likely now to smoke when other people are around.

@tech40 I quit smoking while I drive eleven years ago. That also keeps my smoking down.

When I smoke outside, I find an isolated place.

I have seen most smokers lacking common courtesy. Only few are considerate.

Well, banning smoking isn't a very good idea because this is something that is source of earnings. But yes, banning it in public places is a good idea. Generally smokers don't pay much attention, but then I have seen quite a few who are really considerate.

The other day one person was polite to ask if smoking would bother me! Of course I still had to be the one who moved!!
