Thanks for the toy - I enjoyed destroying it

I think that my dog would say that if he could talk. Yesterday I visited my friend and I before I arrived she told me that she had bought a gift for my dog. When I unwrapped it I found a beautiful dog toy which looked like a doll.
I gave it to my dog and five minutes later it didn't look like a doll anymore. He had destroyed it. It usually takes him 10 minutes to destroy a toy, but he seems to have improved his technique, because it happened much faster this time. I haven't told my friend how he treated her gift.

It was very cute, but he carried it around a for short time and then he started to destroy it. When we give him a new toy we usually have to clean the floor because the pieces are everywhere.

@LadyDuck Yes, I think so. It was worse when he was a puppy. He partly destroyed the couch we had at that time. Today he is an adult dog and he doesn't damage the furniture anymore.

In the past we had both a dog and a cat. Our cat slapped our dog with her paw if he bothered her too much, and then he stopped, so I wasn't really worried about that. But it would be a problem if the dog doesn't stop and can't leave cats or kittens alone. Have you experienced that?

Our dog does it all the time. When we give him a new toy we know that it isn't going to last very long. We never buy expensive toys for him, because he always tears them up.

@tech40 Our dog knows where we keep the toys. We keep them in a closet because we don't want him to get them all at the same time. When we open that closet he runs from the living room to the place where the closet is.

Yes, when the toy is gone, they are ready for the next one. We sometimes buy toys for our dog, but they never last very long, and we always have to remove the pieces from the floor

When I had my dog she ate the arm out of a couch. They do like to destroy things.

Our dog did the same when he was a puppy. One day we came back to our home and we noticed that he had detroyed part of the couch. Fortunately he doesn't do that anymore. He still likes to destroy the toys he receives but he doesn't touch the furniture.

@Hannihar Yes, if he has to detroys something a toy is better than furniture. We only buy cheap toys for him because we know that they never last more than one day.

He only liked tearing it up. It was a nice toy when my friend gave it to me, not it isn't a pretty sight anymore

Oh dear, poor toy! LOL
But that's a given, knowing that dogs are just that --- a bundle of unbridled energy. I remember a friend's dog once chewed on a scattered remote control.
Safe to say, they didn't leave out their things behind after that! Haha!

It used to be a nice toy, but it isn't very pretty anymore Our dog has never chewed on the remote controls, but I can't say that he would never do it. I think it is best of keep them away from from him

Poor toy. My dog tears up cloth toys except the ones she steals from me. Those she tries to hide.

Our dog steals many things. I keep the stuffed toys inside a closet. If he finds them he can't leave them alone, and I have lost of some of them in the past.

My mother gave a wand toy to give to my cat. And she destroyed the bird. So last year I got some stuffless wand toys and they haven't been destroyed yet. I might be getting some stuffless ducks to throw around this Black Friday.

Some types of toys get destroyed very fast. We don't have a cat anymore, but when we had her we sometimes bought toys for her. She was never interested in them, so we stopped buying them.

Our dog loves his toys, but they never last. When he is done we have to pick up all the pieces from the floor

@Porcospino lol yeah I've had to do that a few times after our dog destroys something. I often worry he will choke on the small pieces so I quickly grab things off the floor if he has picked things off the toy.
