Sebastian was ready to go.
At noon we began to load the van. Our small travel pal grabbed a flag and prepared for the long journey ahead.
Perfect weather. Not too hot, and a beautiful sunny day.
A few years ago our daughter and I stopped at an attraction on our travels. Hubby had hoped to see it as well, but we never had the time to stop.
This trip...we are taking the time to stop and "smell the roses" and see the things we've been wanting to see.
Today we stopped at Nakawic to see the worlds largest axe.
It's one of those attractions that actually lived up to our expectations.

Kind of like the Shediac lobster. Never had a chance to stop and look at the ax yet.

The Shediac lobster also lived up to my expectations....the Oxford blueberry was a disappointment.

That is one big (and shiny) axe.
Glad your husband was able to see it this go around. Is Sebastian the bear?

@Morleyhunt He is a cute little travel buddy. It looks like the humidity got to him with how spiky his fur is.

@ScribbledAdNauseum he is very soft and furry. Small enough to sit in my cup holder. He's a great traveller.

He found that the sun made the surface quite hot to touch. He only wanted to sit for a moment.

Today we wanted to see the Lancaster (airplane) that my daughter and I saw two years ago. It's been removed.
We found other things to see, so it was all good.

@crazyhorseladycx I'm not sure why it was removed. It is one of the things I'll probably look into when my trip is done.
The satellite image still shows it.

That's one big axe. Australia has a lot of these 'biggest' statues too. We've seen a few of them.

You can see the handle sticking up, far above the trees.

It's imbedded in concrete. Even if someone could lift it...it is stuck!

Logging is a big part of the economy in New Brunswick. Even Paul Bunyan would find this axe big.
My husband is more than 6' tall. The axe head is taller than he is.

We are off to a good start. We need to cover a lot of miles today. We arrived at today's destination in plenty of time to enjoy a nice dinner.
