I think Papaya is better tasting. I unfortunately do not get to eat it here, it's very expensive.

I don't know about Papaya but although carrots contain beta-carotene this is not in a high enough concentration to be effective unless an excessive amount of carrots where to be eaten. The rumour was started in the second world war by the British. We let it be known that our night spotters were eating carrots to improve their night sight to hide the fact that we had developed radar! all the best urban

Carrot is good for eyes but when I eat too much my jaws pain, and so does my stomach.......lol Papya seems to be very good for skin and digestion, but it has no taste and I don't like its smell. By the way, why did you choose these two specifically.......:D

Papaya, orange and carrot juice are rich in beta carotene and vitamin C. Beta carotene is an essential nutrient for healthy eyes. Yellow fruits such as papayas and oranges are anti-cancerous and are also rich in vitamin A.

Carrot is rich in vitamin A. Therefore, carrot is better for eyes than papaya.

I like eating papaya more than carrots. But I think both have the same effects when it comes to our eyes. Both help keeping a good eyesight. So either may be eaten.

Is eating carrots really good for the eyes, or do moms just say that to inflict the vegetable on their kids? Well, one average-sized carrot contains twice the U.S. Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) of vitamin A, which just so happens to be very good for your eyes. If you're worried about eating a carrot every day for the rest of your life, don't be, because lots of yummy (and some not so yummy) foods contain vitamin A and other nutrients your eyes need. Vitamin A and Other Carotenoids Vitamin A First, let's look at how vitamin A helps your eyes. For one thing, it prevents night blindness. If the vitamin A deficiency causing night blindness isn't corrected, it can lead to xerophthalmia, with dryness in the eyes, corneal ulcers and swollen eyelids. Untreated, xerophthalmia can lead to blindness. In fact, vitamin A deficiency is one of the leading causes of blindness in developing countries. Vitamin A also prevents cataracts from forming and may have a role in preventing blindness from macular degeneration.

Papaya is good for digestion system while the carrot is very good for eyes. In case you are much concerned about your eyesight, you must take raw carrots, wash your eyes with fresh cold water in the morning, fill your mouth with water and try to throw water from your mouth with a force. Breathing exercises in Yoga, if done for 20 minutes, will improve your eyesights, considerably. I have tried all the above exercise/prescriptions. I have been greatly benefitted. My eye sight has improved considerably. Best wishes Ajit Kumar
