Can you imagine???? We get our Internet from the cable company too so no Internet no TV. What a bummer and without internet, we can't even use the Amazon stick.
Not to worry. I have a phone that is a hot spot so I have been able to use my laptop at least.
As I was writing this post, the TV came back on. Thank goodness, I was actually going to have to resort to reading a book or a magazine!!! Imagine that . lol

I don't have my own internet connection but have a number of internet options as I've a few passwords for wifi in my area and then the expensive option of my phone hotspot
I don't have a tv anymore as I can get everything I need through the internet and not being limited to one provider I've been ok for the last few years.

We are in Connecticut so it is just temporary and I am not sure yet if we will feel any effects in Florida from Dorian.

What do you like watching at the TV ?

If our internet goes out we can't watch our Roku, but we pick channels up the old fashioned way with a little digital antenna too.

Luckily my phone being a hot spot allows my Amazon Firestick to still work. That is why for me a hot spot is a necessity.

Yes and my phone is a hot spot so I can use my phone to power my laptop, it is a great world!! It is why I must have a phone that is a hotspot!!

@BelleStarr My computer has a hot spot. My son put it on when we were traveling and I needed to input some personal information. I don't know how to use it. I use data on my phone when the internet is down or there is no wifi available.

I do have some vhs and dvds but we never watch them. lol My hot spot is part of my Verizon plan and it has come in very handy many times.

@BelleStarr i'd say the hubs's prolly hundreds 'f both? some he re-watches, others 've not been out 'f their case'n 10 yrs 'r better. takes 'p loads 'f room 'n i'm thinkin' many might jest disappear whilst he's huntin'.
ah, i doubt consumer cellular's such a thing? then 'gain, i aint too smart'n that. when our local company sold out at&t, i refused to follow 'n got a new company. jest bare minimum, which, if'n needed can be 'xpanded fer jest that month. i'll try to recall to check though. might come'n handy fer me, too.

Hope that cable starts behaving and you can have your TV and the Internet. I watch everything through the Internet and if I want other entertainment I have videos and DVDs.,

I found that in Florida I could run my Amazone stick off it as well which allowed me to have TV.

lol The wifi wasn't working either but with my phone, I am never at a loss, love that hotspot.
