Simple Candle

Indonesia
September 2, 2019 2:30am CST
The rainy season has arrived, and usually electricity often goes out in here. Most of that time, our home is run out candle supplies or emergency lights which causes us a little confusion. To get around this, now we usually make durable candle lamps made from simple tools that are sure to be at home. This candle is made of cotton bud which is piled up using small stones and cooking oil as the fuel.

@kasmakarim yer welcome :) i've seen similar where they've added non-flammable colorant to the water. 'tis a great idea, one's no worry if'n they fall 'sleep that the candle'll burn down too far 'n break the glass.

@crazyhorseladycx Oh, I see. So that means the addition of water at the bottom. I guess it's just as an extra so that the candle doesn't use too much oil

Very simple yet very creative and we have had candles in the house before now also as the power cuts can happen here too. Great photo had a small lamp like that of a night time sometimes when I was small.

@kasmakarim Yes the very cold winter nights in England when there was not a lot of things which might seem strange to some but to me that little lamp meant a lot.

i know that's actually a problem, but it seems kinda cool to me. i love it when the electricity goes out (even though it doesn't happen too often). and that candle looks really nice

we seldom have browouts but when it happens, we light up candlesticks. i would like what you made much better, it's not messy because it doesn't melt.

Yes, because it doesn't melt, this candle lasts a long time and you don't need to clean the traces of the melt on the floor.
