Two Years Ago Today

Lost my Dad two years ago today. Held his hand in the hospital when he took his last breath.
This camellia bloomed in his yard in December after he died. The blooms are so beautiful and bloomed every winter. Snow white blooms. You can see the dew drops on the bloom if you look close.
Would love to have his camellia tree here in my yard, but only have memories.
His love remains forever in my heart. I miss him every single day.
Treasure those you love.

@CarolDM I am so sorry Carol. I cannot even imagine. I'm thankful as I'm sure your father was too, to have his wonderful daughter holding his hand during that time. *big hugs* Very sorry for your loss.

@CarolDM You are so welcome. I am here for you just like many MyLotters are.
And will do. I learned from quite an early age that you can lose anyone at any time. I lost my mum when I was 16. I feel horrible for anyone who has lost a loved one. So I am deeply sorry for the hurt you've experienced.

@VivaLaDani13 Thank you. I appreciate your friendship.
I was 14 when I lost my Mom. It is hard and life continues on without them. Sorry for your loss.

You had a wonderful Dad, someone you could confide in, without receiving judgement:) This is a day you will always remember, the good years that you shared together What a gorgeous blossom!

@CarolDM My father and I could talk about anything at all. Mom was far too busy, to share her time.

@CarolDM I wish I could do something to lessen your pain; but I know that's not possible...except to offer an ear to listen if you ever need it.

Wonderfully said. I lost my Dad last year on July 10th. I also was holding his hand, and I closed his open eyes after he took his final breath. A very solemn day with much heartfelt sadness as I lost a Father and best friend.
Now, only the memories are left. I try to focus only on good ones for there are many over the years. As you do almost every day I think of how blessed I was to have such a loving, caring Dad. I will always treasure the time we spent together...

Lovely flower. You were lucky to have had your dad for so long and you know our dads remain around to watch over us always. Virtual hugs. Mine left me when I was 10 an unprepared and I miss him still but at least he left me my inheritance of writing and poetry.

Maybe that bloom is the love and smile of your father.

i remember the post you made. I am so sorry Carol, i know what your father meant to you. I would tell you that over time you can continue to move on. I am still sad the day we lost dad, but I don't spend the day crying anymore!
