Welcome to day 70 of my health journey. Some days are better than others when it comes to food. Today, I'm hungry and doing my best not to eat too much or too often. Yesterday, I wanted fast-food. It took all my willpower not to walk out the door and go to A&W which is the closest place near me. I succeeded. The only time I left the apartment yesterday was to go to the Y and Writer's Guild later in the evening.
Since I need to buy a few groceries today, I'm having breakfast twice. I have hamburger out for later. I also have blueberries thawing. Aldi has some good sales according to their e-mail flier. I also need to go to Wal-Mart for cashew and almond milk. I'm out of both and they have the brand I like, though I'm tempted to try the brand Aldi has. We'll see. I tend to stick to brands I like.
So, here are yesterday's numbers.
Calories: 1148.5
Sugar: 43
Carbs: 100.5
Protein: 81.05
Sodium: 963.5
Fat: 49.7
Calories burned:
Swimming - 50 minutes - 569
Recumbent Bike - 3.85 miles - 121
Calories burned - 690
Total calories - 458.5
I didn't go to the Y today, though I still plan on walking more than the stores, so we'll see what today brings.
How did you do with diet and exercise yesterday? Thanks for reading. Image courtesy of Pixabay

I'm not sure if I'm going to make that hamburger I have out into a burger or make it into sloppy joes and put it over a baked potato. It will be one of those though. It's only one burger's worth of meat I took out of the freezer.

@wolfgirl569 I made the sloppy joes over a baked potato. Fast and easy.

@just4him Thank you! Today when I went for a long walk I also alternated by running a block then walked again and then ran again. I can still run short distances.

@1hopefulman Maybe one day, I'll be able to run again. Such is not the case yet. I'm glad you're able too.

@just4him 50 minutes of any kind of exercise is impressive! Hopefully, you find another way to do this after your membership expires.

@divalounger Right now, I'm walking through the complex. I intend to get it back next month, but if I can't, I'll find ways to walk until the snow starts and makes it hard.

@just4him By reducing my carb intake to 40 a day I have lost my cravings for sweets and carbohydrates. It took about two weeks and today it has been 8 weeks on low carb. God luck.

@Tampa_girl7 I'm trying to keep my carb intake down. When I talked to the doctor about it, he was good with 120, but I'm usually a little over that amount. It's more important for me to keep my sodium intake down as it always causes swelling when I have too much, and that's only in the foods I eat. I don't add salt to my diet. I don't eat processed foods either. I was surprised by the amount of sodium in the fresh foods we eat.
I'm glad you're doing well on the low carb diet.

It sounds like your food day went well. Congrats on avoiding A and W. I think I did OK yesterday, with the exception of popping a couple of chooclates into my mouth..must put those out of sight, and a handful of chips.

Your numbers look really good.
I love shopping at Aldi and pretty much everything they sell is good quality.

I can understand, that some days are not as easy. I think you did great though with your numbers - both in food and exercise.

This is very interesting, I'm going to take a cue from you! I think this takes alot of self discipline though.

I can understand about wanting food some days and not other days. I have cheated with sweets and potatoes 2 days, my fasting blood sugar tells the story too.
I don`t recall the last time I ate a meal out, or fast food, I am doing good with that too.
I forget to post my report some days, but I "try" to keep the calories low. Yesterday I had a candy bar, and banana and peanut butter so my calories were sky high and I didn`t get to walk yesterday, I was just to tired. Today I will do better.

I'm glad you'll do better today.
I'm finding posting this is good accountability. I know I'm more mindful of what I eat. If I eat out, I look for the best selection on the menu with the least calories. It is usually dine-in. It's rare when I have fast-food, but when my son is buying, I don't refuse.
