Do you think Americans are racist?

If you listen to the news media in the USA you would get the idea that America is a hotbed of hatred of anyone who isn't white. Sure there are some fringe groups like the Ku Klux Klan and no-Nazis, but when they hold their rallys they get maybe 20-30 people.
In this article the author traveled around the middle of America and found out that we are not the racists that we are told we are.
As I traveled across America this summer, I found something that would surprise many in the media. I found a lot of racial harmony.

There will probably always be some racists here in the US, but I don't believe most Americans are. I live in the south and most people get along pretty well.

Usually I experienced racism from the older people, not saying older people are racist but every generation people gets less racist. I mean racist jokes are used a lot on tv during the 90's.
