Yes That IS a Real Song Title Top Ten: Things to Do in Denver When You’re Dead (#2)

Well, lookie here. It’s another long-time favorite showing up on my list of songs that have unusual titles. Yes, these are real songs, and these are their real titles. I emphasize that because I’ve seen some lists online that do NOT have the actual song’s title listed. Most notably is the one that keeps trying to tell you there’s a song called “If you walk out backwards I’ll think you’re walking in.” NO. The Bill Anderson song is simply called “Walk Out Backwards.” So here’s the next song on the list. #2: Things to Do in Denver When You’re Dead - Warren Zevon And you may be thinking, “Hey, wasn’t there a movie by that name?” Yes, it came out eight years after this song, so you now know where the title of the film came from. Ah, Warren Zevon. If you’ve read anything from me you know how much I love his music, and how much it changed my life when I first heard “Accidentally Like a Martyr” in 1978. Seriously, if I hadn’t heard that song I’d probably be posting a bunch of songs that you all have heard of! Zevon named his co-conspirators, ahem, co-writers, LeRoy Marinell and Robert “Waddy” Wachtel, in the song (“I called my friend LeRoy on the phone....I saw Waddy in the Rattlesnake Cafe”). I’ve never been to Denver (yet), so I’ll leave it to Scott (@teamfreak16 ), who’s from Colorado, to verify a list of things to do there when you’re dead. I want to go while I’m alive and enjoy the beauty. And yes, if and when I make it there, this song will be blaring from my speakers. Things to Do in Denver When You’re Dead Written by Warren Zevon, Leroy Marinell, and Waddy Wachtel Recorded by Warren Zevon From Mr. Bad Example, 1991 You won’t need a cab to find a priest:
