Day 36 Promise 39 Exodus 12:40 Now the sojourning of the children of Israel, who dwelt in Egypt, was four hundred and thirty years. 41 And it came to pass at the end of the four hundred and thirty years, even the selfsame day it came to pass, that all the hosts of the LORD went out from the land of Egypt. (KJV) Promises kept are more important than promises made. People make promises all the time, but for reasons known only to the person who made them, are they broken. So then, when a person keeps their promise, it holds more weight with the person to whom it was given. God made a promise to Abraham that his seed would leave Egypt in 400 years. Genesis 15:13 And he said unto Abram, “Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years; 14 And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance.” (KJV) Abraham had one son, Isaac. Isaac had two sons, Esau and Jacob. Jacob had twelve sons. During the famine, Jacob and his sons went to Egypt to live in the land of Goshen. Children were born to the twelve sons of Jacob in the land of Egypt. Exodus 6:16 And these are the names of the sons of Levi according to their generations; Gershon, and Kohath, and Merari: and the years of the life of Levi were a hundred thirty and seven years. 17 The sons of Gershon; Libni, and Shimi, according to their families. 18 And the sons of Kohath; Amram, and Izhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel: and the years of the life of Kohath were a hundred thirty and three years. 19 And the sons of Merari; Mahali and Mushi: these are the families of Levi according to their generations. 20 And Amram took him Jochebed his father’s sister to wife; and she bare him Aaron and Moses: and the years of the life of Amram were a hundred and thirty and seven years. Israel didn’t live in Egypt for 430 years. It was 430 years from the moment God gave Abraham the promise that his seed would come out of Egypt with a strong hand and mighty arm after bringing judgment on Egypt who enslaved His people. God kept His promise to Abraham as the people left Egypt free from bondage. God gave Abraham a time when He would keep His promise, and God kept His promise. Have you kept your promises in the time you said you would? People are fallible. Promises are made and forgotten. It is when you keep your promise that people see you as a person of integrity. Let’s pray: Father, help me keep my promises as You keep Yours to me. Let me be a person of integrity as I move through this life. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. There are promises made to be broken. People in the past were so obedient to Lord.

If you're going to break a promise, don't make it. The people were disobedient to God, which is why He had to continually punish them those 40 years in the Wilderness, and even later with the kings who served false gods. Have a blessed day.

@just4him That is why we have to fear God to avoid His wrath.I am still busy here bringing works from school to home that is why I am late here. Maybe I cannot reach the threshold for this month.

@cacay1 Why not? The month has just begun. There are still three weeks for you to earn. I've already reached the threshold.
