Onam is the festival of Kerala(A state in India where I live.It is only celebrated in Kerala )
It is also called the festival of harvest.
We eat a special meal called sadhya for lunch.
It is night here now and I will be here for a while before I doze off

What do you eat at your special meal. We have lots of occasions for special meals here in the US. I think our similar celebration might be Thanksgiving. It is in the late fall, and we enjoy large traditional meals, often with turkey and other roast meats, and many many side dishes.
