My cat, and the "Cold War"

Me and my cat have been involved in a Cold War for at least 10 years. It began when I was an investigative reporter. I would come in late, place my recorder, notepad, camera, and other notes on the kitchen table, grab a snack, sit down, and watch Family Guy. She would join me. It was our thing. As the years passed and I got new gigs she, I think, resented the fact that I changed up the schedule for us. So now all I'm good for is opening the door when she's ready to leave and come in. She gives me hateful meows the entire time. "You could just walk in," I think to myself. I actually found myself faking sleep just so she wouldn't bother me to go out one morning because when she realizes it, boom! Be ready. She's not an enemy, but not a friend either. Maybe we're frenemies haha.

@thisweeksthought It sounds like because you changed the routine she is not happy with you and letting you know that. That is a very long time for her not to forgive you for changing the routine.

Believe it or not; animals particularly cats and dogs do rely on a schedule. It's not like you can tell them before you walk out the door that you're gonna be late getting home @thisweeksthought because even though they DO understand some English; they wouldn't catch on. It's no different when we set schedules for our own things and something goes awry. We're not happy campers either.
