It is 14th September today. So the later part of September is about to start.
Things are warming up in my offline work life. A number of things are lined up for me next week.
A lot of it is guidance and mentoring work.
We also have the Shradhas where we remember our forefathers, and there are certain rituals on some days.
On one day, we might be having some shopping and some fun.
Then a major task would be helping kids during their exams.
We have to make sure that they study regularly but also do not stress themselves out. Parents are so anxious about marks these days but I always talk about balance and not pressuring kids too much.
Unfortunately many parents are putting too much pressure on their kids these days, which I do not find right.
But that could be a separate topic.
I wish you all guys a very great weekend.
And I just came to know that today is "Hindi Day" - a language spoken widely in India and in many other parts of the world with a good Indian population!
Take care.

@LadyDuck at times, I too felt like putting too much pressure on them. Then, I calmed down. May be other parents' succumb to current trends, and seeing rising competition, they become nervous and start putting more pressure on the kids.
Yet such pressure does not helps, and instead can harm kids overall development more than helping them.

@LadyDuck Yes even elders cannot work well under too much stress, so why expect kids to do things with free mind under such conditions.

@LadyDuck yes but still we also have to do a lot of hard work in preparing them.

I think pressure has been put on kids throughout time to do well at school I guess because parents want their kids to do better than they have done. At the same time it is good to be supportive and encouraging without beating them with a stick. I hope you enjoy your festivities next week.
Many English words have a Hindi background for example Avata, Gymkhana and Jodhpurs to name just a few!

@garymarsh6 there are both ancient and modern linkages.
Shakkar in Hindi got transmitted to Shukre in Arabic and finally to Sugar in English.
Sanskrit word Navigith means to navigate and is said to be related to Navigation.
And "Nausena" is the Hindi word for Navy.
Then we have Guru, Raj, Yogi, Masala, Khakhis almost as widely used in UK as in India.

@garymarsh6 we call it Hinglish, so some sentences could be :
"Aaj mera Pizza with cheese dip khane ka mann hai. That is why main Pizza Hut apne Friends ke saath cab book karke jaayunga."
(Today I want to eat Pizza with cheese dip. That is why I will go to Pizza Hut with my friends after booking a cab).
Sometimes it is so mixed up that you can understand the whole discussion or talk without making much effort. But yes, sometimes you might need a translator.

Parents breathing down the necks of children are so common now.
My son was born after many years of our marriage and I merely set an example of a balanced life.
I made sure I worked to live and not lived to work.
I am happy that he has a similar outlook where life is worth the while.
Only a happy person can give happiness to others - siva

@Shiva49
Well even I try a balanced approach. And I feel bad if at times I become harsh towards them.

Yes you are right but sometimes we care pressurized to do this or that for our kids.
A few years back, I took a few wrong investment decisions for the sake of my kids but could not carry them through and the aftershocks are still there.

We have a similar a language celebration and it is a national language commemoration. Ours is Pilipino, the national language. In Pilipino we call it Wikang Pambansa which is usually held in the month of August.

Yes such days are important for our main languages' promotion. Hindi is also used as an official language by the Central Government as well as by many states in India.

@Aansh13
Actually many people might not be aware of Hindi Divas, so most celebrations could be in some Institutions, some Interest Groups or some official Government ones.
Other people in the society hardly participate.
It would need more awareness.

@Aansh13 moreover many people are having the mindset of thinking of Hindi as a not so cool language and emphasizing only on English.
