Is it WASP season where you are? Here in Minneapolis, I have had several peculiar guests sitting on my windshield and the top of the car. 5 or 6 wasps, that were crawling all around my windshield, even while driving 45 miles per hour to work!
I was trying to figure out why this is - and this has happened twice in the past two days. I recently went on vacation for about 4 days and didn't drive, and left my car parked where it always is - under a tree. I kind of wonder if the tree sap got on my roof/hood/windshield, and that is what is attracting them?
I made it a goal to look UNDERNEATH my vehicle at some point to see if there is some type of wasp nest.....
I did get a car wash today though, so maybe that will take care of the problem. I had to open my window to pay for the car wash today, and one was trying to fly in! Ugh!
While researching, I learned that: WASPS (unlike bees) are extremely aggressive, can sting an unlimited amount of times, eat human food (such as meat!), and apparently put off a strange odor that alerts other wasps when one is dead. Interesting stuff.
Do you have wasps where you live? Or have you ever experienced anything like that?

Back in July, close to the start of the school summer holidays, we went to The Big Cats Sanctuary. We enjoyed looking around at all the big cats. However when we sat down to eat we saw lots of wasps. It was very off putting indeed. A lady told us on the Thursday 40 people had been stung by the wasps. Thankfully it was the Saturday that we had visited. On our trip in the Czech Republic wasps bothered us at a cafe. We were trying to eat a meal and it was awfully bothersome. Therefore we went inside the cafe to eat and we felt safer in there.

Yes, I was stung recently...we have them all around. I'm not allergic, but I do have a reaction...large red area around the sting and after about two weeks, the spot is still there, a little raised and itchy. So be careful! They're mean little critters.

It's spider season here. I do see wasps once in awhile but not a lot.
