Power Cuts Really Annoying, Do You Face Them?

I have some urgent work to be completed and mailed and there is this unexpected power cut since morning. Earlier they use to inform about power cut to be scheduled at so and so time prior. But now they have stopped and just cut of the supply anytime and to for hours. The last time the service was resumed after 8 hours and the minimum was 3 hours. The climate is also cloudy a reason of which there is not much light coming inside the house which has darkened the house more. Thank God my cellphone was charged earlier or else won't have anything to do but just sit and wait for the power supply to resume. Do you have frequent power cuts at your place?

We have a home UPS that takes care of everything around the house excepting the fridges.

Yeah that is a nice alternative but can we operate out computers also with UPS?

We never have power cuts here. We had one during summer, but it was planned and we were informed from several weeks before they did cut the power. There was a major upgrade they needed to do.

That's really nice to know that you don't have power cuts like we do, I guess we have major upgrades most of the times

. Even that day the power supply resumed after 7 hours, its really a drawback for local shopkeepers for storing dairy products specially ice creams.

@nitirrbb7 We received in our mailbox the flyer informing us from which hour and for how many hours we would have been without electricity. The modern refrigerators and freezers have no problems up to hours, we were without for hours and during the night, from midnight up to 4 am

So far power cutoffs are rare in my place since I live in the capital city so power interruptions rarely happens. But I know in the countrysides that they still have this tripoffs from time to time.

@nitirrbb7 Yes they tend to prioritize main urban areas than of the rural areas since they could earn more in those areas.

Lucky you, unfortunately we are far from City and here the authorities are least bothered about pulling down the power supply anytime they wish.

here we not have power cuts and if its happen by mistake then it maximum for 30 mins. its a really tough when summer but i am lucky that where i live, very rarely power cut but its only for 10 mins maybe.in which part of India you live?

I have never experienced a power CUT, but from time to time the power does go out. But it is never scheduled. The power here is supposed to be available all the time.

Not very often. And whenever it does, it only takes about 5-10mins mostly.

@nitirrbb7 No,fortunately we don't have such problem.We very rarely have power cuts.Power supply gets disrupted only when the it is raining very heavily.Otherwise we never have to face such problems.

Good to see you back on mylot. Those are pretty long power cuts. I don't get such long power cuts here but the voltage fluctuations are a daily affair.

We live in India. Almost everyone here has power cuts planned or not.
