Do the Miami Dolphins Even Have a Plan?

Admittedly, I don't pay attention to the NFL (other than the Green Bay Packers) as much as I used to. But, every so often, something from another team catches my attention. And, in this case, it is the seemingly insane way the Miami Dolphins are treating their roster. I heard rumors that they were planning on tanking this season, something that is pretty much unheard of in the NFL, in an effort to get a high draft pick so they can get an elite quarterback. But, even when that's taken into consideration, their moves are still very puzzling. I can understand tearing down a roster by getting rid of older players and stars that have probably already reached the peak of their potential. The Dolphins, however, seem to be going above and beyond that and are even trading away young players with a lot of upside. So, I guess the question is, what exactly is their plan? Even if they succeed in getting a star quarterback, they aren't going to have enough talent on the roster to help that player succeed. At the rate they are going, that quarterback is going to be past his prime before they are competitive again.

I am into college football, but this sounds like a crazy story for Miami.

Like you, I don't follow the NFL as much as I used to. Too many wife-beating jerks on the field. But this is an interesting story--and one I had not heard. Your analysis is the same as mine. If you get rid of all of your good players, your "star quarterback" won't do you much good.

My Cowboys are gonna beat their butts on Sunday @srhelmer . It sounds to me like they need to eliminate whoever is doing the picking.
