This story is interesting since the incident in question happened in April of this year. Knox County Sheriff's Department officer Lieutenant Chris McCarter and Deputy Brian Rehg did manage to save a life of a young man whose name was not released after he attempted to jump off of a bridge in Knoxville Tennessee. Both officers recorded the save of the young man who attempted to jump off of a bridge on Pleasant Ridge Road when Rehg reached and grabbed the right leg of the young man just as he was about to leap over the railing of the bridge. Lt. McCarter assisted Officer Rehg in getting the young man safely away from taking his own life. The young man was likely taken to a local hospital to be treated for his mental illness that caused him to nearly take his own life. Knox County Sheriff Tom Spangler decided to release the footage of the incident on Monday. I guess Sheriff Spangler decided to wait until the time was right to release the video footage of the save of the young man who tried to end his life a few days ago due to legal reasons or until he felt the time was right to release the good news story on Facebook. All I can say is that both police officers most likely had to seek help for their stressful situation of saving the young man who tried to end his own life since these kinds of experiences are very traumatic for any law enforcement officer to endure.

@Deepizzaguy I can see why they wanted help after that experience. They are heroes for what they did.

It requires a strong hand grip to save life in a situation like this. What mental illness caused the young man to try to end his life? What happened to the young man ?

@Deepizzaguy I guess so, but, why ? Did he broke up with his girlfriend? Did he lose his job ?...

@stringer321 I have no idea why the young man wanted to take his own life since the report did not mention his motive.

The young man was probably suffering from depression.

I agree with you since what they did took a lot of courage to do what is right to save a young man from taking his own life.
