Make sure it is depression or not

have seen a lot of people talking about this topic on Mylot. And if we start calling small troubles our depression, our conference will never grow. I would like to say that maybe in a day we have many moments when we feel low. So we feel that this depression Depression does not happen. Depression occurs if you think of something for 7 consecutive days and you are unable to eat or drink because of it, then it is called depression. Being upset over things is not called depression. It is a bad habit that getting upset by small things quickly lowers your confidence.

One person upset many times in a day. it is normal thing because it is not possible that all things are as per our likes and dislikes.

Depression is not just a state of mind but it is a symptom of mental illness. However we need to make sure we don't mistake being upset as being depressed.

Yeah. Anything that sits on our mind with a negativity for more than a couple of days should be dealt pleasantly. We shouldn't put that in our mind and heart forever.

It` s a nice topic starting with.. Im agree with you about that reason for depression due to low confidence .. life is all about ups and downs .. when your life is up be a get a not overjoyed ....or if you are in down also don`y worry too much .. if you can balance with the life ups and downs with we can kick off the depression.

Well in our place it should be 2 weeks of unexplained sadness can you be considered clinically depressed and should get treatment from doctors if needed.

Yes! People confuse being sad or upset with depression. Depression is a mental health problem. Not just a state of our current mood. It is a very serious problem.

You are so right in saying that ups and downs are part of life. And we all go through low phases but depression is a clinical disorder and need not come in stressful time. Anything can trigger it and those who suffer from it have no control and do need professional help.

To say that you have depression now days is ,,cool''.You tell people that you are ok that you are happy,you will have someone that will try to change that somehow.You tell someone that you are in depression,they will act ok.Because in this days people don't want for you to feel better then them,but in the same time they don't want you to depress them...The true think is..we don't know what we want or feel.We love drama but we don't recognize that.
