Why No country tried Walking on the MOON since 1972?!?

On 20th of July,1969 Mankind had a giant leap from EARTH to the LUNAR surface and made a history. After that NASA sent many other Astronauts to Walk on the surface of Moon. All crewed lunar landings took place between July 1969(Apollo 11) and December 1972(Apollo 17).Only 12 people have walked on the Moon, starting with Neil Armstrong and ending with Gene Cernan. Why is NASA or any other Space Organization not sending Astronaut to the MOON after 1972? Are we done with the researches? Or Countries are lacking Money to think of such expensive program? What is the reason?

I think it has something about the cost that really is preventing many to send man on the moon again. Another thing is the risk of losing a life out there far outweighs the benefits still with the technology we have right now.

@ankit16497 yeah we have sent some over there but the cost is becoming bigger as it entails a lot already taking in the inflations since we last launch it.

cost is a factor,, but it is not a new factor since NASA have sent man to moon already,, but we are still ignorant of the dark side of the moon,,, it may contain water in icy form

I think the reason why there is no eagerness to walk on the moon is that because we haven't figured out how to make money from doing so. The same way that there is no popularity for vacations in the desert.

Maybe there's already a base there and we don't even know about it. Remember that space is being monitored and regulated by the US govt. that means something is really out there.

it is not expensive to send a man to the moon. other countries dont do it for lack of funds. they would rather spend it on some more important projects than sending someone to the moon

But I think countries like Russia,India,Japan,China are capable to send Man while doing their important projects side by side.
