Hi everyone! I need help finding time to be here. I try at times, but something always comes up to take me away from myLot.
Besides making the most of our beautiful weather, I have been ultra busy with friends morning, noon, and night, exercise, sports, family, beauty treatments, and of course Doodles the cat.
He’s staring at me right now wanting to go out again. He has been averaging catching one chipmunk a day! It breaks my heart, but Doodles is so proud. I want him to be happy for the time he has left with us.
My beauty doctor told me to take the day off from exercise except for walking. Therefore, I plan on working on all my many notifications that have piled up in my absence. Please bear with me. It feels good to be back!

Actually, the lowered ears and eyelids are saying: "Look, I know that you don't really like it but this is what cats do and this is how I show you that you are my human. Here's a chipmunk I caught for you. It's all I got. Take it or leave it."
Bear with you? I see no bears! It looks owl good to me!

@DianneN Does he actually give it into your hand? Most cats deposit their presents at one's feet and then back off and sit until you take it (classic present-giving behaviour common to most animals, including humans - only we tend to wrap ours!).
I bet Doodles would love you to think that he's brave enough to tackle a bear or an owl but I would hope that he has a little sense and wouldn't try to tangle with a bear.(or an owl) if he could possibly help it. Most cats are very wary of birds as large or larger than themselves unless they can see a clear advantage. It's the claw in the face that upsets them, I think. I have seen otherwise brave cats slink away from encounters with chickens!

@owlwings Oh, yuck! No, he either tries to bring it into the house or drops it at my feet.
Since we are outside with him at all times, he won’t get a chance to get a bear. There are owls and hawks, but I’ve hovered around him and told him - Big, bad birds! He knows to return to the house. He has outwitted little birds by hiding under a bush when they came to eat the berries that fell off a tree. We dug up the bush and threw it out.

My cats chased chipmunks and I would try to save the poor little things. Now if they did as well with mice as they did with chipmunks I would have been happy!
Summer is slipping away and we need to enjoy what little we have left of it. I have Lyme and can't be in the sun because of the medicine I am on. Dang.

@DianneN I have a feeling that we will be hammered with mice this season. Have heard that it will be a long, snowy, cold winter. Field mice will be seeking a warm place to live.
Hope my cat will be able to keep up with it! Maybe it is time to add another cat to our home.

Oh, drat! I didn’t know you have Lyme disease. One of our sisters in law was hospitalized with it for weeks. Take good care of yourself. My brother and a friend have it, too, and it can be awful.
Btw, Doodles already took care of the mice. Nary a one to be found in the yard.

@ElusiveButterfly I heard it will be a mild winter. I guess we will just have to wait and see.

The weather has been amazing here as well. Usually by this far into September it has turned very cold. With the toe surgery not heeled yet I am glad it's warm so my toes aren't freezing when I go to take the dog out. Last night was the first time it rained since I had the surgery.
Poor little Chipmunks.

finding time for online things is really hard.
the cat is sharing with the pack. My dad used to tell my mom, the cat brings you mice because it is pretty sure you can't hunt.
needless to say, my mother did not find that funny.

Nico would tear into that squirrel we have in the back if he had a chance...but he is going to have to watch from a distance.

Oh I would not worry about popping in here only do it as and when you can. Real life is probably much more exciting! Besides you should make the most of the lovely weather before all the leaves drop. OH wait you have more hot weather coming your way too! The eternal summer but still at least it gives a change of scenery! Enjoy!
