What is your ultimate holiday destination

Where do you like to take your vacation, is it on a sandy white beach, in the woods in a little cabin, in a city with interesting places to visit and eat, any particular country?

Mine would either be in a cottage on the beach or a cabin in the woods beside a lake. Anywhere near the water would be perfect for me.

@MOONROCK No I have never been overseas but I sure would love to go some day. I have been toa few different places in the USA but going overseas is a dream for me.

@Happy2BeMe I am glad you have been to a few places in the USA, I have never been to Canada, looks like a very nice place to live, suppose the winters can be very cold, we do not get severe winters in Southern , Summers can be very hot, especially near the coast, we also holiday outside our immediate borders to Mozambique, poor country, but fantastic beaches and tropical experience

@Ladanger Is is safe to meet someone on the internet? Maybe you should join a club, gym or society, I wish you luck, it is not nice to be alone, especially when you go on holiday

Ultimate? OMG! Do I need to book a place in the Pearly Gate Community already? Or maybe it's the other place I should be thinking of (cheaper, maybe, but with no aircon and the swimming pools filled with boiling oil, I hear). I prefer the countryside or the seaside to any city, and NO crowded beaches or overpriced fast food. A nice quiet country pub in a small fishing village in Cornwall or Wales or Scotland, woods and hills and lakes and cold, clear streams and sea air are my choice. I have no real desire to go abroad and no plans on doing anything more strenuous than a quiet stroll or two.

@Starkinds You can get lost there very easily, but it is the ultimate experience. I would love to visit India, but it is very vast, so I think I will need a lot of time to see all the wonderful things your country has to offer

Italy is stunning, but very expensive. I was fortunate enough to visit there in 2001, had the opportunity to see Venice, it is something I will never forget
