Good morning mylot friends, today i want to talk to you a little but about my art I have been drawing since i was little, and as much as i want to say that i've gotten better with practice...i don't think i have practiced enough to improve. I've gon through stages of wanting to draw realistic portraits or create my own characters, i have an instagram page where i upload my drawings and you can tell the difference. This year i embraced what i like...because i see that realistic drawings get more fans i'd been trying to replicate that, but it made me somehow uncomfortably trying to achieve that style. So i have recently decided to make things that make me comfortable, since i usually do self portraits, i'm going to try to go beyond that. For the first time, i created a character and i'm going to upload her here, her name is Angie, i'm working on her personality traits since i've always been told that this is important, i made the lineart last night and i want to make a cute background and color her soon, what do you think of the idea of me recording the process and uploading it to youtube?...it's something i would really like to do. What are your plans for today?

That's a good idea. Angie is your alter ego?

@samysotelo18 I know a cartoonist friend. He had created a character as his alter ego.

You have a very cute and fun cartoon style and you should absolutely embrace it! There is nothing wrong with exploring and experimenting in other styles of course as there is a lot you can learn and incorporate into your work, but art isn't any fun if you can't play with it and do what you enjoy from time to time.

I really love your style! fun, cute, and very expressive. I'm still experimenting with my art. I draw cartoon style like this but I really want to practice backgrounds and landscapes. and I think uploading your art process on YouTube is a great idea, I love seeing people's process when I look at art on Instagram

I am an artist as well... this is actually my first time back on mylot in almost a year, and my first comment since then. I have some discussions with my artwork set as the photo, feel free to check them out anytime. Your character kind of reminds me of a character from the cartoon Adventure time for some odd reason. It's always good to draw whatever you enjoy but at the same time not to fear getting uncomfortable when you experiment with different styles... you will almost always learn something new!
