I didn't know mixed raced babies can be ginger

Usually when a person of color marries a caucasian person their child will have dark hair. They can inherit the light skin and light eyes but the hair will be dark. Prince Harry's genes are so strong that his son not only looks like him but the baby also inherited his ginger hair. I was expecting the boy to have dark curly hair but he ends up with red straight hair. I am biracial and my ethnic side is more dominant. Most mixed race people I know either have a balance between the features of parents with the dark haired gene more dominant. Most popular mixed race people have dark hair like Keanu Reeves, Chris Darryll , Rashida Jones,Barack Obama etc... Whether they have the caucasian or the ethnic side dominant, they usually have dark hair. Harry's genes though are so strong that his child is a white ginger boy.

excuse me for this long response, but if i consider some things we learnt in genetics class - kids can inherit light hair color too. i don't know how to say certain things, so let's put it like this: AA - dark hair Aa - dark hair aa - blonde i have auburn hair (aa) and my brother has blond hair (aa). both of my parents have dark hair. it's possible because: my grandparents were combination of dark (AA) and light hair (aa) if you combine this, you get: AA+aa=Aa, Aa, Aa, Aa (so all of their kids are going to have dark hair, but in form of Aa) so, my mom + my dad: Aa+Aa (now you combine these) = AA + Aa + Aa+ aa so chances are: 75% that we'll have dark hair and 25% that we'll have light hair. chances are not so big, but they still exist. so maybe someone of meghan's granparents had light hair or something and she has dark hair in form of (Aa). so combined to harry: Aa + aa = Aa + aa + Aa +aa, chances are 50:50 i'm sorry again, i just felt like writing this, because it was interesting to me and i'm sorry if it's confusing

She is Half white and Half black and yeah one of her white ancestors may have light hair and that light hair gene might have got awaken when she married Harry who seemed to have a super dominant gene since their baby looks nothing like her. Yeah genes can be confusing. The whitest looking person could have some Asian or black on their genes. The darkest skinned person could have some Native American or Asian on their genes. We usually have this common perception of what a mixed person looks like.

They can and I have seen photo of kids with dark skin and ginger hair and they were so cute. The baby of Prince Harry got all his genes from his father. Anyway Meghan is mixed, so she is not "pure black", her father is white.

I do believe his wife is mixed, so that baby can be light. It is also still a baby and features could still change. My cousin with he had his children, were light and later they were darker skin, so time will tell.

Yeah Meghan is mixed, her dad is white and her mom is black. We will see in few years if some of her features will appear on her son aside from dark eyes.

oh yes, mostly if one parent has dark hair, the kids will inherit that.

I was expecting the baby to be more like Zendaya or Drake but the baby becomes full on ginger with no African American features noticeable

For me, color does not matter. It is not a joke when I say I am color blind with race and I don't want to talk about racism because it is a senseless talk.

Nothing is racist about this though, its more of me being fascinated with how genetics work.

That could be the answer, Harry's stronger genes. My grandfather is Spanish but I didn't have his feature, maybe because he has weaker genes against my Filipina grandmother.

The caucasian in my genes is very weak too. I have pale skin but I look ethnic.

@ilocosboy I don't mind looking ethnic in Canada, I was seen as exotic because of it.
