Do I hold on or resign

September 26, 2019 3:54am CST
I know we all have gotten to that point where one has to make choices. Am currently battling whether to resign from my current job.. I know I have bills to be paid n some dependents too,.. but I feel I can’t stay anymore with the way my current boss is treating me. I also don’t have another job in place or any offers n it’s hard to get a job on this side. Do I stay and be patient as I look for a way out or do I just give in to my emotions n resign and go stay at home with nothing at hand.

My problem is I don’t know how to pretend if I start hating someone so I will struggle to maintain a sober working relationship with them. I will however try my best

It's often said that it is easier to get a job when you already have one. I would stay in your current job until you have found something else.

You should look for another job because it would be hard to you to pay all your bills if you leave. Try to stay patient as you need to earn money to support your dependents. I was doing some supply teaching and I didn't like the head teacher. One teacher came from New Zealand and for an assembly she had her class sing. The head teacher said bad things about it. I applied for other teaching positions and one came up closer to where I lived. Good luck.

If I can turn back time, I would have quit. I would have easily found another job. I stayed and now I have mental illness and physical pain. Ugh regrets. In your situation, you'll be the best judge still.

That's what they call a "toxic" person. Sometimes the first step is to really get away from that particular person and you'll be able to think clearer. Right now you feel like you have no other option if you resign. In my country, we simply report people like that. People take it to social media and we have offices we can approach to help us resolve it quickly. This is just my two cents. I wish you luck and do keep in mind its not only that mean person who is around you, I bet you also have good people who are that willing to listen and give you advise or the help you need.

The problem in our country corruption is too much that if I was to report such a person I would end up loosing everything as money will buy their story and Tables maybe turned and I become a victim.

If there are are any misunderstanding among the colleagues,it is better to sort it out first and in case if not or not liking the environment its' better to get new job with higher salary or same salary then resign

Find another job first, you need the money to pay your bills and go on.

Have something ready to go to in case it takes a long time to get a new job. Never quit without a way to have money coming in. Unless you can afford it. You can have a bad boss in every job, I didn't like a lot of mine, but it is part of the work world. I have had the best ones, the worse of the bunch, but hang in there.

@jaysondmjm24 It would be nice if you have another job to go to so you can resign. Do you find jobs fast? If not, you mentioned you have to pay bills so unless it is so bad stay there till you find another job.

Why not resign and stay at home since you can't sustain the bad treatment of your boss?

Hello I imagine the discomfort that you must be going through in your work but you still have to face it with courage because the ideal would be that you will look for a new job. Think it would be worse for you to be unemployed and in debt. I hope my advice helps and good luck.
