Baugettes and L'Shanah tovah!

Today, once again I am attempting to make baugettes -- those long thin loaves that are so French. They look, well, odd. I'll try and post a picture later when they get out of the oven. I want to get to the point where they are perfect, so it is practice, practice, practice. I'm also making beef stew for dinner. Tonight is Rosh Hashanah, the first day of the Jewish new year. For everyone out there who is celebrating, I wish you a good holiday!

The beef stew came out pretty well, very savoury, very tasty, and J loved it, which is the critical point.

They came out looking rather like snakes. But in all fairness, I know that I forgot a vital step, so it is back to the bread board.
