Default TV channel

I don't watch TV much. Only I watch it during a live sports event. I can't remember the channel no. of popular TV channels which other household members can. We're having cable service from local distributors for many days now and haven't switched to any Satellite TV service operators. It is quite a cost - effective solution for watching TV that I don't watch much anyhow. The only dislike recently is whenever I switch it on, a useless Sales channel opens up everytime and I have to watch it for almost 30 seconds enduring its blaring noises(don't know why the volume rises up so high on its own) as the remote remains non-functional at that time . It becomes a source of much annoyance in the early hours of morning or late at night. Do you have cable TV and face such kind of annoyances? Or you have fully cut the cord.

@Sojourn Yes I just use either YouTube, Amazon Video.

We have had no problem with our dish service. We have the cheapest package.

I can see that this problem is at India only. American service providers has no such problem.

We have no more a cable TV, I usually record what I want to watch so I can skip the commercials.

We no longer have connection with cable. Kids at home no longer liked to study. Their grades reduced so their parents disconnect the cable.

Yes same problem here too with Airtel DTH but i start to down volume as TV on as its takes little time and in that time easily can bring down volume so easy to move to a regular channel. This kind of thing happen after use set-top box.
