I feel silly I only just found out now....

I'm not exactly technology savvy. There is quite a bit I do know but then there's A LOT that I don't. I'm not one of those people who will go nuts over a new phone or feel the need to upgrade. If it works fine and does what I need, then I'm happy. I remember about 4 years in having my iPhone, I somehow turned a light on and had no clue how to turn if off. I know how to do it now. I've had my phone for about 7 years. But I know I don't know everything about it. Sometimes I will watch YouTube through the TV while I MyLot but it gets tiring having to use the remote to type everything in. Anyway yesterday, I was watching YouTube on my laptop. As I was about to click the enlarge button, I was curious what the "Play on TV" button would actually do. I have heard of some apps or whatever where you can play YouTube videos through your phone / laptop. I clicked on it expecting nothing to happen or get a notification saying I would need to download an app or something but then the TV goes to YouTube and starts playing the video. I wish I could have seen my face. My eyes widened and my jaw dropped. I was so happy. Out of ALL this time having that TV and my laptop, I only JUST realised I could do this. ****photo is mine****

Surely the clue was in the name of the button!!! Just don't press the big red 'Do not press' button.

@VivaLaDani13 You're obviously not an engineer! You would have pressed that ages ago just out of curiosity. We engineers even press the big red 'Do not press' button. Nothing bad has happened. Yet!!

@VivaLaDani13 Indeed I am ( but only until Christmas!!). The fish were asking for it. Swimming around aimlessly with their silly mouths flopping open and shut, open and shut...

@WorDazza Wait, are you an engineer? Maybe nothing that you can see! Maybe that button just blew up a school of fish under the sea!!!! WHY? Why did you blow up the fish??

Isn't it just the greatest feeling in the world when you discover something new or exciting on your technology gadgets that you never knew existed? It's like making a major new world discovery or something! haha

@Ladanger Yeah it's surprising! I remember not too long ago I was watching a YouTube video about VR's. And I had no idea things that could be done with a VR. And I learned that you can use your VR to go to Yoga classes. You met other people there online and do an actual Yoga session. I just never knew you could do things like that!

@VivaLaDani13 Oh yeah, I do understand that...my mom has a DVD player that his Netflix/Hulu/etc on it....but we can't seem to get it to connect to the internet! So that is why it would be nice to have the option to play it directly like the option YouTube has! Lol

cool. I have a blu-ray player that has the Youtube app. I love it because I can do my exercises in the living room. Last week thought the app didn't work for some reason. I couldn't get it back on at first. I realized that I had to reset the blu-ray player. I did and it came back on!!

@JESSY3236 It's so funny because I find that a lot of the time when something isn't working, technology wise, turning it off and on again usually fixes it. I'm glad it came back on for you!
