A happy day for the residents in Memphis Tennessee happened on Monday when the executives of the grocery store chain called Superflo announced the good news that the supermarket chain called Kroger who announced in January 2018 that they were closing their store due to losses of revenue mounting in the millions. Normally when a supermarket chain closes it doors for good, which business replaces it is not always another supermarket chain. However it is kind of odd for the management at Kroger to donate the property to a supermarket competitor like Superflo which is a new market in Memphis that keeps its prices low for their shoppers. At least the shoppers in the Memphis area can breathe a sigh of relief that they can still shop for groceries at Superflo when the store opens for business in the near future.

@Deepizzaguy We have that here where I used to go closed last week and I heard that a supermarket that does exist is opening a branch there in 4 months. That is nice.

It does pay off for the shoppers at Memphis since their neighborhood grocery store will be in their area evn though it will be Superflo which is a cheaper priced store than Kroger.

It is kind of odd that one supermarket chain donates their building to a smaller rival chain.

That's quite a magnanimous gesture from a large company such as Kroger.

Wow! That's very unlikely situation in business, their rivals lead tough competition against each other. Really I am impressed

I liked it that Kroger's management decided to allow a rival to take over their building so the people in that neighborhood would have a neighborhood grocery store.

@Janet357 Kroger did it that way since the residents in their neighborhood were angry that if another super market would be in that area, they would have to travel across town to buy groceries.

It is a very nice gesture of the management of Kroger to allow Superflo to have them replace them as the new shopping store in that neighborhood.

I agree with you since not many super market chains would donate their building to a rival super market chain.
