What future for planet Earth?

We have to remember that Earth is not just a planet; it is our home. A far as we can see, there is nothing in the universe that even comes close to what we have on Earth.
Many love planet Earth and are concerned about its future. Should we care about what we are doing to the planet?
What can we do for planet Earth to show we care? What changes have you made or are you planning to make in your lifestyle?

Go back to the old days, no cars, no cell phones, no factories to mass produce. Grow your own food.
Gonna happen? No because the world will be ruled by phone and tech zombies. To lazy to even move out from moms house.

That would be a drastic change. Most of mankind would never accept that way of life.

@jstory07 Yes, some people need a car but I have been getting along quite well without one for a few years now. I also have a cell phone and it is very useful.

Yes, there is so much that we can do at home to save resources by living a simple life.

Every little bit of caring for the Earth counts. I do what I can to be more Earth-friendly.

@1hopefulman I do that as well. I use re-usable bags when I can. I keep one or two so if ever I need one, I have one to use.

@allen0187 It is very important to do our part to take care of the Earth. God gave us the Earth as our home but it does not belong to us. The planet belongs to God and He will deal with us the same way we deal with the planet and the people that live on it. If we're good, He'll be good and if we are bad then He will be bad. We will reap what we sow!

That is wonderful to hear! I try not to use plastic bags anymore. The bags I use to carry my shopping are re-usable and I have now been using them for many years and I carry them in my knapsack all the time.

Yes, we should all use re-usable water containers. There is no real need for single-use plastic bottles.

I am doing a lot more than most people. I do not buy anything that comes wrapped in plastic, I do not use disposable plastic glasses, forks, dishes and so on, I recycle everything I can, I walk most of the time and I do not use a smartphone.

@1hopefulman We should also show more respect for the wild animals, they also contribute to the equilibrium of the planet.

If we show we care, who are we showing this to?
Do you think that the Earth cares about us caring for it, as believers in Gaia think?
{From the Greek word for (gaia), a parallel form of (ge) meaning "earth". In Greek mythology, Gaia was the mother goddess, who presided over the earth. She was the mate of Uranus, and the mother of the Titans, and the Cyclopes.}
There is so much misinformation about, it is hard to know what to believe for oneself.
The founder (according to Donald Trump, although, a little research says that he, Patrick Moore, was just a past President of this organisation)) of Greenpeace, Patrick Moore, for example, claims that global warming is a fake beat-up.
{Mr Trump quoted Patrick Moore, who he claimed was a founder of Greenpeace, as saying: "The whole climate crisis is not only Fake News, it's Fake Science."}
From SourceWatch Jump to navigation Jump to search Patrick Moore is a nuclear industry public relations consultant (through his firm Greenspirit Strategies) who denies that humans cause climate change. Moore has consulted for the Nuclear Energy Institute,

@innertalks Genesis 6:5-8 comes to my mind, that God will use some supernatural way to get rid of destroyers of the planet. We'll have to wait and see how things will take place.

@1hopefulman According to that verse then, those that are destroying the Earth will be destroyed too.
It doesn't spell out exactly who will do the destroying in that verse though.
It is said in the Bible also, that those who take the sword will die by the sword.
This might also mean that the bad who destroy the earth will destroy themselves, and the good, will all have left the earth by then, anyway, or will be protected, in some way, by God.

@1hopefulman God did promise that he would never destroy his creation in that way again. Yes, things do seem to be coming to some type of a head, maybe something unexpected might happen soon.

There are many who worry about the climate changes these days. We need help from God and his Son, if people continue destroying the earth. We can see in Isaiah chapter 11 what the earth will look like when our King Jesus rules the earth..

a few decades ago I decided I would start recycling or re-purposing things I used to throw away. Then when I bought this land I live on I decided to plant as many trees as I could. I'm still planting trees even though some of the ones I've planted over the years did not make it.
I've been living green for decades.

I'm glad you also like the photo that I got from Pixabay.
Yes, all is in God's hands and we need not needlessly worry but I know that he appreciates people that care for the wonderful home He gives us. Psalm 115:16 (American Standard Version) 16 The heavens are the heavens of Jehovah; But the earth hath he given to the children of men.
Yes, it is good to speak to God in prayer many times in the course of each day.

Yes, both are important! We need to make better use of resources that cannot be renewed. Each tree gives a lot of seeds that can be planted so that we never run out of wood and fruit.

Polluting and ruining the Earth is not going to be good for us. If we don't take care of it there are are going to be horrible consequences for humans. To be healthy, we need clean air, water and soil.

So called progress, which makes our life more comfortable and more empty in its sense, that what's destroys our planet. Humans are very selfish and greedy to care what will happen next. Simplicity of life that what we need actually. Life in harmony with nature and all its species without urge to kill or destroy. Sadly, it will be too late for us to understand that.
