Jim Croce - Operator

One of my favorite vocal artists and songs is "Operator" by Jim Croce (below). Croce was born in 1943 and was an American folk, rock and soft rock singer/songwriter. His first two albums were not successful; so he took various odd jobs so he could continue to pay the bills and write songs. His break came in the early 1970s with his third album, "You Don't Mess Around with Jim". Croce died in 1973 at the age of 30 in a small plane crash. Croce wrote some great tunes! I also liked "Time In A Bottle" and "Photographs and Memories." That was a musical era of reflection in songwriting for sure.
