I Saved $28 With One Phone Call

I was so mad when my credit card bill came in the mail because it had a $28 late fee.
My payment got caught up in the weekend and when it was due on a Saturday the bank didn't process it until Monday. Guess those computers don't pay attention and just initiate a late fee.
So, I called customer service, went through all the crazy prompts (non of which I needed) and finally after yelling "representative" a hundred times they transferred me to a "real live" person.
I explained why my payment was late and they removed that $28.
See it pays to make a call even if it's a pain in the butt.

I figured it can't hurt to ask and I was rewarded.

@Marilynda1225 They are hoping you will hang up if they put you off long enough it seems.

Sometimes that happens to me and the call agent would waive the penalty.

That’s awesome that they removed the fee. I know my credit card states that it takes 3-5 business days to post payments so they say make the payment a few days early. My credit card statement is posted 3 days before my baby bonus(a Canadian tax credit) is deposited into my account so I pay as soon as that comes in to avoid late payments.

Glad it all worked out for you. I find most banks will work with you if you give them a call.
