When a problem just won't go away

I mentioned this before, but I've had a headache for about three months now. It wasn't so bad at first and you know, you think it's just the weather or ??? After two months it was getting worse instead of better, so I decided to see a doctor. I figured out the pain is behind my forehead and eyes, so I went to my eye doctor. He said I have mild Iritis in both eyes and put me on steroid drops. That was almost three weeks ago and my headaches are worse by the day. Usually steroid drops help pretty quickly, but they aren't this time. Maybe it's not Iritis, maybe it's not my eyes. But I am so tired of a constant headache...Ibuprofen and Tylenol help at times, but the pain comes back when the meds wear off. I have an appointment on Tuesday with my eye doc specialist in Greenville, so I'm praying he can do something. If he can't, I guess I'll see my primary care doctor. I know this isn't nearly as serious as some of the health issues many of you have, but please say a prayer for me. Thank you so much. We serve a merciful and mighty God!

Heavenly Father, I thank you for loving Vicki. I thank you that everything we go through is so important to you! As your word says in Luke you have every one of our hairs numbered! You are an amazing Father. Lord, I ask for healing in her head. I ask Father that you take her pain away, Jesus touch her with your amazing healing power. You are a mighty God, above all sickness! Thank you for answered prayers. In Jesus name I pray. Amen!

I really think you should go to your primary care doctor anyway. Like you said, it may not have anything to do with your eyes. Hope you get to feeling better soon.

@1creekgirl yes, please do that. I remember years ago how bad a headache can be, at the time my husband was in the service, I would wake up with a headache and go to bed with one. My head hurt so bad at times I remember laying on the couch and crying. This lasted for a few weeks, I finally went to the Military Dr. he asked me a lot a questions , he told me I had what they called nervous headaches. I don't know what kind of pills it was that he prescribed for me, but it worked, my headaches went away. I was so glad for the headaches to be gone, I'm so scared of getting them again, that if I even feel a headache coming on I will take something! lol

Thanks so much. If this specialist doesn't know what's wrong, I'll definitely see my primary care doc.

I am really sorry, may be it's not your eyes, with the headaches it's hard to diagnose. I really hope they can find the problem and fix it.

Some things make me think it's eye related, then there are other things that don't seem typical. Anyway, I'll see the eye specialist on Tuesday.

Sounds like a sinus headache like I get sometimes. Since you have a follow up appointment on Tuesday, maybe cool ice packs would help?

I don't have a fever or pain in my face, so I don't think it's sinuses, but I'll try the cool packs. I read that warm packs might help Iritis, but who knows what I've got? I'm sensitive to light, but I don't believe it's a migraine. It's not typical of migraines I've had before.

@CarolDM I really hope it is a sinus problem, that should be easy to clear up with antibiotics. Do you usually have fever with it? I have in the past, but not now. Thanks, Carol.

@1creekgirl I was only comparing to my sinus headaches, it is always forehead and behind the eye pain. But we are all different. Good luck.

Most of the time headaches are a result of restricted blood flow through the veins @1creedgirl . It could be Temporal Enteritis. Have you tried a hot, wet washcloth from the temples across the forehead? It can also be a a sinus infection causing blockage at the very top of the nasal cavity.

@1creekgirl Try to do the cloth as hot as you can take it and do it multiple times in a row. I hope it helps.

Prayers for you! I hope your primary care physician refers you to a specialist such as a neurologist. Three months of headaches is not good.

Thanks, Dianne. I actually had one day yesterday in several months that I managed to not take any pain meds. But this morning I'm on the verge of taking something.

It may not be as serious; but a constant headache is very debilitating. Prayers and healing thoughts headed your way; and I hope your doctor can figure out what's going on with you.

Today is the first day I haven't had to take pain meds so far, so maybe it's getting better? Still going to the specialist on Tuesday, though.

It seems like an MRI might determine the cause of your headaches or at least rule things out? Perhaps you could ask the specialist or you primary if they feel it is necessary at this point. Especially since eye drops are not working and your condition is worsening. Sorry to hear about this Vicki. Prayers that everything is ok.

@1creekgirl Oh so good to hear Vicki. I was thinking about you. I remember when I was having repeated sinus pain from an infection the doctor made me get an MRI. Hopefully, it is just something that eventually works itself out in time.
