Abscess Gum Infection

Yesterday all of the sudden my husband jaw puffed out and started aching. Within an hour or so the whole side of his face was swollen. So we went to see his doctor after I finished with my doctor's appointment. It turns out he has a abscess gum infection. His doctor gave him a antibiotic (amoxicillin, very high dose) and he took one immediately. Last night he had a fever and the area was so swollen he couldn't open his eye. Poor baby. So today he is inside with me. Trying to do nothing and relax. I really do feel bad for him, something like that is so painful. I will be babying him today, you know, getting him drinks and waiting on him as much as I can. Hopefully he will be feeling better real soon. That's is what my day will be, what about yours? I hope this finds everyone healthy, happy, and pain free.

OMG, I remember getting those infections. So painful. I have a great fear of dentists so it wasn't easy for me to get it taken care of. Hope the hubby feels better soon.

He was in a lot of pain. But, he is so much better now. He took a lot of care and time but so glad it is almost over for him.

oh no! poor fella! so glad he 'twas able to get treatment so quickly, hon. hope he's a better patient'n the one here who does nothin' but refuse all'n whine. i'd great plans, the hubs's still not left. keeps procrastinatin' 'n whinin' 'bout all thingies. i wish 't times i could put him'n ebay 'r some place'n see if'n i can recoup some funds 't least.

He wasn't a great patient. It took a lot of time and energy to take care of him. But, it's over now. I always say I would have to pay someone to take him off my hands.

My last abscessed tooth cost me about $6K. I sure pray the antibiotics do the trick for him.

It takes no time for them to appear and it seems like forever to get rid of them. I am so glad he went to the doctor when he did.

I am so glad he has you but sorry to hear this..yes very serious those abscesses. I pray he feels better soon and that it will clear up.Today just baked a pie that is all and catching up on the Lot. Have a good one Susan.

It sounds like a good day for you. Fortunately he is nearing the end of the abscess. His face is back to normal and he is running around. I am so glad that is almost over.
