Okay, I know there are a lot of myloters who are also Trump supporters. I promise, if any of you chime in your opinion, I will not ridicule or call anybody stupid in this discussion. I have a question, based on President Trump's comments at a rally in Louisiana last night, Friday. Trump claimed that impeachment proceedings against him were unconstitutional. I'm wondering if any of you agree with that claim, and why. If you state your opiniion, and the reasons why, I won't respond, unless you ask me to in your response.

I am not American, so I do not know a lot, but if it is "unconstitutional", why it was legit to impeach Nixon?

Like Clinton, there was actual evidence that Nixon "may" have committed a crime. Since Nixon resigned rather than go to trial he was never convicted of anything.

@Denver1 Clinton did not resign and he was not impeached. Nixon did the right thing, because he knew he was guilty.

@LadyDuck I did NOT say that Clinton resigned, he WAS impeached in the house. Nixon may have been guilty and probably was, all I said was "He was never convicted" Either way, They were both corrupt. From Wiki: On December 19, 1998, Clinton became the second American president to be impeached (the other being Andrew Johnson who was impeached in 1868),[a] when the House formally adopted the articles of impeachment and forwarded them to the United States Senate for adjudication. The trial in the Senate began in January 1999, with Chief Justice William Rehnquist presiding. On February 12, Clinton was acquitted on both counts as neither received the necessary two-thirds majority vote of the senators present for conviction and removal from office – in this instance 67. On Article One, 45 senators voted to convict while 55 voted for acquittal. On Article Two, 50 senators voted to convict while 50 voted for acquittal.[3] Consequently, Clinton remained in office for the balance of his second term.[4]

He said he called, he never tried to hide that fact. I enjoy him as a President, a breath of fresh air, not a career politician.

Impeachment has 3 different meanings: 1) accusations 2) bring him to judgement in court 3) bringing one to an end of his job position. It depends what meaning we are talking about.

@Denver1 I hope it is all fake news, Trump is friendly with my country and I hope he won't let Iran to make an atom bomb to threat us all. Obama didn't try much to stop them...If they want to replace Trump, I hope they have someone who continue this line with Iran.

In our system it is a political process not a criminal or civil matter. So the real conviction is in the court of public opinion. Which is what they are after, because it will interfere nicely with the 2020 election. They are doing what they caused the Republicans of doing to Clinton, overturning an election.

@stringer321 The last thing Trump wants is Iran to have Nukes ... He is fighting for that. The last admin seemed to want the opposite??? Pray for peace. M

I never voted for Trump but I have to say, "I think he's lost his mind." First of all, I can't stand all the Tweeting garbage by him and second, I'm sick of his back and forthing on issues that face this country. Impeachment IS Constitutional when 3/4 of the House & Senate vote for it. Just ask the former Presidents (Andrew Johnson & Bill Clinton) who were but neither were removed from office.

Trump is not saying that impeachment itself is unconstitutional, the action they are taking against him IS... Because the house has not had a successful vote of the entire house to proceed. Johnson and Clinton were not treated this way, there was a full house vote to proceed. Clinton and his tram were given full access to everything as they should get. Trump team is not allowed the transcript from the last hearing. No right to subpoena or to cross examine either... This is just for starters. They even voted to extend Clinton extra privelages just to be fair. The documents are all available that shows this and more. They are lying to us about what this really about. The crimes are on their side. They were hired by the Dems to help win against Tump and there is 6 or 7 more politicians that sold their votes to Ukraine besides Biden. It's a big cover up, and it's all coming out now. The media doesn't want to cover it, but it was in the NY Times a bit over a year ago. Youtube has a few real good channels, Judicial Watch is one. Tom Fitton uses F.O.I.A (freedom of information act) to get the actual documents from the Govt. that prove what going on... Dig into rhe facts if you dare. It makes me a bit nauseous actually... M

It's not unconstitutional at all. I think if America voted him in, we ought to be able to vote him out.

I agree, "Voting" him out is the best system on earth. That's NOT what is happening here. No One is voting.... Certainly not the people that elected him.

My only take on this is that there are absolutely no grounds for impeachment. None. Not a single shred of anything. Of COURSE the PROCESS is Constitutional. But there is no reason for the democrats to be pursuing this. None. I cannot believe that there are people out there not seeing that the ONLY thing the democrats are doing is trying to remove a successful president. Aren't they elected to do the work of the American people? They are wasting time and energy and taxpayer dollars pursuing what is essentially a temper tantrum because they lost the election and just cannot handle it. If this is all the democrats have time to offer, Trump's reelection is all but sealed. Did you watch the last debate? All they talked about was how bad people have it. This is the best economy in 50 years. Historical low unemployment, historical black and Hispanic unemployment, the highest employee participation rate in YEARS, median income is up $5000 a year, the stock market is soaring, 401ks are up by leaps and bounds, gas prices remain low... I am scratching my head wondering WHO exactly is suffering.

The House has NOT voted for this latest action. They are doing this in order to keep all this secret and they are NOT allowing the other side to call witnesses or even have a representative be present for the testimony given. This way they can "Cherry Pick" what they feel will sway public to support impeachment. Not to mention they have taken several votes that all failed earlier. He should be allowed these basic rights... They have been trying to abend the 'innocent until proven guilty' with Justice Cavenanough too. Where is the evidence? This appears to be a cover-up by the Dems, when they say the accusations against them have been 'cleared', think about how corrupt the three letter agencies have been found out to be. No wonder they had been 'cleared'.
