What strange land is this?!

I just stumbled upon this site while looking for ways to earn a little extra cash for the holidays and it's got my attention so far! :)
So, is this basically like a social media site that actually pays you?? That's pretty cool.
I guess I should go check out a list of do's and don'ts before I delve any further; my crazy-mad ADHD always has me skipping the ho-hum stuff that's actually important. Any tips/suggestions for this brand new member of discussions and what not? I'd appreciate any feedback that could help me out! Thank you!
Rebecca

@BeccaMay you're welcome and I'm doing good. Don't feel bad when you have to get off here, just remember to reply to everyone that comments back to you and keep things going.

Yep, read the do's and don'ts, they are pretty simple.
As for what I recommend? Interaction.
When someone leaves a response to your discussion, comment back to them. You earn based off of the interactions of others. So these first three responders have helped you earn. I always ask questions pertaining to what a person says or based off of something I already know of them. That helps keep things flowing.

@BeccaMay Since 2007 or 2008. The site went through some changes and closed for awhile, but I came back when it came back. It does pay. $5.00 is the minimum, so if you can manage 17 cents in a day you can get to payout for the month. Of course much more is possible but it does require a bit of time here and learning when the best time to be on is.
The best time to be online is different for everyone though.

Welcome, I have been here for almost a year. You get paid depending on interaction.

When I blow up Facebook, I feel like I'm annoying people. Is this completely different? I won't have anyone put a hit out on me for interacting too often? Is the compensation fairly decent, considering that it's actually fun and not like working at all!

@BeccaMay I don't think am working here. Facebook doesn't pay you when you rant or blow up, here you get while having fun and making friends.

Welcome to myLot, the rules are simple and all you need to know is written here:
You do not earn for the actions you take (as an example writing something), but you earn when people interact with you. A comment to your post makes you earn some money.

They like you to write quality discussions. They frown on posting "just" recipes...however do not mind that you talk about the food that goes into them, as long as it is written in general conversation form. They also do not like you posting "one liners"...like a lot of people do on Facebook. Just be yourself, and you will do fine.

welcome to mylot! definitely read the FAQ and guidelines.
you earn by interacting with other members, however earning is relatively slow so it's more about making a connection with people enjoy mylot, look forward to talking to you around the site!
