Is it normal for a mother to be angry because I don't want to eat her food?

My mother cooked a food and she left it at 13 degrees Celsius for several hours. The taste was changed and the smell was also changed. I refused to eat it. The food had rice and meat in it. She started to judge me. She told me that I will feel worse and worse. She said that I exaggerate a lot. She told me that I made her very upset. She will not forgive me. I feel sad now.

Was not be possible to re-heat the food if you do not like it cold? I would have not eaten either, I do not like cold food.

@dya80dya Cold food is not good at all and often re-heating is not as good as hot food out from the stove.

Yes, I re-heated it. But it had a weird smell and taste. Not too bad, but it was different. Cold food is not good.

@LadyDuck Yes. But we can't throw the food. The taste is changed if we re-heat it.

If you already found the food was not alright, it is fine that you didn't eat it. But you have to explain it patiently to your mom. I can't say that moms will get mad when children refuse to eat the food they make, but be sure it will upset them. Moms tend to prepare for good food for children. The problem is the food has changed after a long time.

@youless Yes. And when she is angry she really knows how to hurt us.

If the food sat out for 9 or 10 hours and smelled and tasted different, like I said, the food has gone bad and could make you sick. You are doing the right thing by not eating that and wouldn't feel bad about it. Did your mother still eat it?

I agree with you. I didn't eat them, even if this made my mother angry.

That's a bit warm to keep the food out for several hours. I'm glad you didn't eat it.
