Work Day Blues

I'm new here, so I'm not sure if I'm doing this right. I work a normal 9-5 office job, which I actually enjoy. BUT I do not enjoy all of the people I would with. One person got mad at me and claimed I was "questioning" her authority because I suggested to use a drill instead of a screw driver to hang something on the wall. It's so frustrating. Now I'm searching for a new job but I'm trying to be a little more picky this time around. I had two interviews last week but they aren't really for jobs I'm interested in, plus it would be a pay cut. I also have an interview coming up this week for something I really want, but communication about it has been pretty slow. Does anyone have any advice for me?

Have you thought about work from home? Telecommuting?

I would love to work from home, but I've never been sure where to start. I have to make sure I can make enough money and I don't want to get mixed up in any scams.

I would try to find something you know you will be happy doing. Making more money is good, but it is not worth it if you end up being miserable everyday going to your job.

Maybe you better talk with the boss so she know she let you feel not so friendly, because you didn't try to question her authority and you wrote you loved the job. So, maybe you can talk to your boss and see if she can understand you. It is a matter of respect and understanding each other.

I did talk to my boss. This was actually how I found out that she thinks I question her authority. My boss had us both come in to hash things out but it just made things worse.

I actually have two businesses that I run on the side. One where I make shirts and decals and the other is a pet care business.

I also think that you should continue looking for another job, It may be a bit difficult but hopefully you'll find somewhere where there's more pros than cons, good luck!

First of all, welcome to Mylot!! =) I hope you enjoy your time here. Unfortunately, anywhere we go in life we won't always like everyone there. But if you like the job, why let someone steal your joy and take you away from there? I will pray that God guides you on what to do. =)

Just keep at it. I understand sometimes jobs are so hard because managers are complete tyrants. I hope you will find something soon even if it is a little bit less than what you are getting.

Welcome to myLot. Enjoy the site! The first step for all newbies is to read the Guidelines to learn what is allowed or not on the site. Then you can write a post introducing yourself. Tell us a bit about yourself. Furthermore, read around as much as you can, Like and Comment on other members' posts. Only then will members come to your site and do the same. This is called interaction. Don't expect too much money-wise. If you reach $5 a month (the payout limit), you can call yourself lucky. **Please add the name of your country to your account page.**
