From time to time we get people who try to use myLot to advertise or make havoc. Every forum suffers from them from time to time and myLot is no exception. I probably remove between ten and twenty accounts every day before they even post anything because either their IP address or their email is listed somewhere as a spammer or a 'brute force attacker'. There are a few, of course, who manage to slip through the net and, if they manage to post something, someone usually reports it and I deal with it as promptly as I can. The latest "cunning ploy" is someone who has written a simple program to go through the list of all users and 'follow' everyone it finds. This person tends to set their display name to something like "flirt with me! ...[a website url]". If you were one of those who received this notification, please just ignore it and delete it. I can usually get there and ban the person before many, if any, notifications go out but this morning quite a few will have received this notification. Sorry about that! If you do get such annoying or disturbing messages, please don't post about it: We don't want to give such people any kind of encouragement! By all means, send me a PM if you are concerned and I'll probably be able to tell you that they've already been dealt with!
