Haha, I think you have no choice to let them know. I can honestly say one of the few embarrassing things that never has happened to me. I did walk into a glass door one time at the bar. That was about as embarrassed as I ever was. It was not a big crowd as they had a live band, so just enough people for everyone to see and hear my face getting smashed by the glass door. My lady friend is like did you just walk in the door as we were outside? I am like yeah all red. My homie helped me out though. I have done that and I tell them all the time stop cleaning the door so good because that is what happens.

@amadeo I bet it happens quite often. I was watching a video on Reddit. It happened to a dog in his own home. Lucky guy, family is allowed to laugh strangers not so much. Anyway, dog was smart. Next time he stops at the sliding glass door sticks out his paw, to make sure it is open and then slowly walks into and excited run. Next time I see a glass door. I am going to do the same. Dogs are smart.

I think there is general consensus that the guy needs to be told. But the person telling him should not remain in memory as the it would be periodic reminder. So how best can you tell without the person hanging on to the moment of embarrassment.

All depends--male or female? Front or back of pants?

@amadeo Today you have to be very careful as a man as to what you say to a woman!!!

How? May be culturally, I am not on the same page. An Indian lady would have tough time saying this lest she be misread as somebody who focuses on that part of male anatomy.
Secondly, it would spoil the guy's whole day and keep him embarrassed about it for quite a few days if he could see the person's face who tells him about it. As long as he does not see the person's face ... shame may not overpower him..
