Happy almost Halloween! Anything new in your worlds? I have to say I have been pretty busy these last couple of weeks and not really motivated AT ALL in coming on here. Not sure what's up with that. I have been SO drained and tired though. A couple times last week I slept 12-14 hours a night. And I was still exhausted when I woke up. I thought I am fighting some type of cold that is persistent. As I write this, and have 1.5 hours left of work, I am feeling extremely exhausted.
Halloween is coming up (next Thursday!). Do you participate in any of the "fun" Halloween things? Decorating, pumpkin carving, trick or treating, Halloween parties?
I enjoy all these things but unfortunately due to my work schedule, for the most part I miss out. However, yesterday, me and my two sisters were able to get together and carve some pumpkins. The end result is the picture! It was fun, and we even "frugally" made use of the guts.
We roasted the pumpkin seeds (I did this, and they didn't turn out GREAT but we will eat them), and me and my sister found a recipe for Pumpkin Butter, using the crock pot and the baked pumpkin guts. It used about half of the "guts", so I am really happy about that! It always feels so wasteful otherwise.
We had a bunch of fun doing this. Do you carve pumpkins?

Some people dress as Hello Kitty for Halloween.

No. I used to. Cute pumpkins. All I'm doing for Halloween is giving Lily some treats and keeping her in the house. I might help out at my uncle's church handing out candy if he needs me.

We used to do that but then you have to use up all the inside right away.So now we just get interesting looking pumpkins.

I know carving them is a main part of your celebrations. What do they indicate?

It is celtic origin--it is a wandering spirit--something like that.
