It Happened to Me, Too

Last week I wrote about finding a tick embedded in Doodles the cat. As fate would have it, I discovered another one on him the following day while on one of our many walks and removed it immediately.
After my morning walk today, I was dressing for a tennis game when I felt a pimple on the back of my neck. Very odd, but as I was about to leave the house my hubby returned from his gym and coffee with a friend. I mentioned the pimple, and he wanted to have a look.
Turns out it was a tick! Thank goodness it wasn’t a deer tick, and he removed it easily and applied peroxide to the area.
I happily played tennis, just showered, and put on more peroxide and an antibiotic ointment.
Things seem to happen in threes around here. Either Doodles transferred a tick as I gave him a free ride back into the house or one landed on me from one of our trees.

Yechh! Ticks are supposed to be out in full force this year because of the mild winter. Animals and humans are at risk. It's a good thing you found the one on you.

@DianneN Sorry to hear about your sister-in-law! That's terrible. Do a tick check on you and Doodles every time when you come in!

You're lucky you noticed that pimple and your husband found the tick. Who knows how long you might have had it before you realized it.

Glad you got rid of the tick--how do you tell a deer tick from others???

I suspect you get it from Doodles. Be extra careful when you clean Doodles from that blood sucking tiny bug.

@Nakitakona Cats usually remove them themselves unless they are around their heads, which was the case with our poor Doodles.

@DianneN You may know it if the dog is scratching his body.
