My mom, she is 84 years old with a heart and kidney failures. This year must have been a terrible year for her as she has been in and out of hospital. Each time, her condition deteriorates. She just came out of the hospital again and this time, she is far from her old self.
She is a wonderful mother for her 10 children. It is sad to see that she not what she used to be, bubbly, chatty, full of life and always has that beautiful smile on her face.
I remembers whenever I needed someone to talk to, she always there for me to listen, comfort me and help where she can.
The doctor told us that she is getting weaker. The medicine she is taking now is causing her to become delusional and sleeping all the time.
I wish she was younger and stronger so that she has a chance to go for heart surgery. At least, if the surgery was successful, she is able to live a beautiful life surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Pardon me for saying this but doctors are always discouraged when the patient is more than 80 years old.

I agree with you. However, it is not fair just because the patient is in an advance age, the doctors are discouraged to give whatever possible treatments available. I believe as long as the patient is still breathing, it is the doctors duties to give their best treatment, even if the patient was dying.
