Vintage Gas Lamp

I think some of us still have this kind of lamp. Using theoil or gas to ignite the light. I have gas lamp in the house but different kind.
I remember, 30 years ago or more, an improvised gas lamp is what we use at night. We buy kerosene in the store and the little light is enough to lighten the house when we eat and the put it off when we need to sleep.
So different now that we have incandescent, fluorescent and LED lights in our house. Brighter and cleaner. This thing are just part of our history and will just be displayed in the vintage collections.
Unless, of course, when blackout occur.

I'm one of those who still have several antique gas lamps even if we already have solar for emergencies, they are very beautiful, this one I think is from the 1800s or 1900s turn of the century

oh wow, that is beautiful gas lamp, I think we should keep this not only for our collections but for our emergencies. This thing still works.

@ilocosboy I have another one, I think it's even older cause I saw a similar piece in Jose Rizal's house in Calamba ,Laguna. This one is a ceiling hanging type.

We also had a kerosene lamp when I was a boy. I wonder who got those vintage items from our ancestral home.

@ilocosboy we also had a Singer sewing machine and some other items that I know has a value. Maybe my sister got them all.

Oh, we also have two vintage sewing machine in the house, and we have also many baul or vintage wooden box, even our home is a old house he eh.

Yes, gas and oil lamps are not hard to revive, they can be fix easily.

I have twenty oil lamps. I love to collect them. Yes, they come in handy in a power outage.

its nice, its good you have this collections, I have only three but I think of adding more, I thought of going to junk shops where some vintage and old things can be found.
