As we near Halloween, a quest for answers.

In the picture above, can you tell me what is going on? Is this some unknown creature from the depths of the ocean come to wreak havoc on humanity? Or is it some mundane situation that just looks kinda scary to the uniformed? What do you think?
Halloween is just around the corner, I thought something odd looking might be just the thing to get people in the spirit.
(I will reveal what you are looking at either tonight or tomorrow. Though I bet at least a couple of people will understand what they are seeing and comment.)

For now, I'll tell you this much, I stumbled upon this in a tide pool near where I live. This has not been staged... What you see is what I found. (Honestly, I had a lot of questions when I saw this, and took the photo to experts.)
I'll explain everything later today or early tomorrow morning I honestly want to see what people think of when they see this.

@cperry2 Looks like a huge snail with ghost tentacles coming out lol I honestly have no clue what I am seeing. All I know is, is that it's kinda freaking me out a bit.
