My cat is terrified to drink water

My cat thought something happened in my bathroom. He only drinks water in the bathroom. If I give him water in another place he doesn't drink it. It's funny how he was sitting while drinking water. I don't know why he is terrified of that bathroom. His name is Torres.

It sounds like he may have had a mishap when he was drinking water in another room, like the kitchen. It could be as a kitten he fell in the toilet and nearly drowned and will only drink water on the counter. Unlike Petey who prefers his water out of the "ever flowing fountain" (the toilet). He will finish his breakfast and go in the bathroom and wait for me to go in the bathroom and flush the toilet for him to get his drink. If I don't go in there fast enough he will sit on the counter and yell until I go in the bathroom and flush the toilet so he gets fresh water. (Fortunately we don't use the toilet bowl fresheners that you put in the tank!!!)
The other thing I was thinking about your cat is that it is possible that he could have a mild vision problem that makes him feel more secure drinking water in the bathroom.

@dya80dya That very well could have caused the problem. Cats are notorious for hating water and taking "baths" is an activity that would be at the top of the list. I had a cat that had a problem with falling in the bath tub. I would be filling the tub with water and bubble bath and the cat would be walking along the outside edge of the tub and I'd hear the splash and race in to find the cat sitting in the tub covered with bubbles over the top of his head. I'd have to take him out of the tub and into the kitchen and rinse him off and dry him off with the blow dryer so he didn't catch cold (he was a Siamese and just loved all the "beauty parlor" treatment!). By the time I got back to my bubble bath it was cold and too late for me to take it. I'd have to resort to a shower in the morning.

Hmm, this is something new to me. My cats drank water wherever I gave them their water. Have you checked online about it googling it? Has your cat done this since furbaby was a kitten?

If only the little fur baby could talk Torres would tell you. I wouldn't force him though, for like humans we all got some kind of phobia...I'm deathly afraid of bees.
