Was there a gift for Christmas did you NOT get?

As a child, was there a special Christmas gift you didnt get?
When I was 11 years old, I asked for a mini bike. I asked for it when I was 12 and 13 too.
But I my dad would not buy me one. That was not something for a girl. Instead I got a purple bike with a white and pink basket! lol My dad was so old fashion. We were not even allowed to cut our hair short.
What was that special gift you wanted as a child for Christmas? But you never got.

Yes one year I wanted a talking doll but it never eventuated at all and instead I got a camera. I didn't think it was half as much fun, particularly as I only got 2 films with it and then had to wait for the photos to be developed. I might add that at this time we lived 2 hours from a town where we could do anything and we children only went there twice a year.
