Rushing to bed

Do you rush to bed because it is later than you wanted it to be? Or, do you have a fixed time when you stop everything and take your time preparing to go to bed?
What is your bedtime preparation routine?
I used to go to bed way later than I wanted. These days, around 10 PM, I try to stop everything. I floss and brush, soak my feet in hot water as I do a puzzle and am in bed by 11 PM. I am very happy with this routine. What is yours?

That is a very reasonable time to go to bed and you have a good routine. I'm pretty sure that you are very happy with that routine!

@thelme55 I could never get comfortable with reading in bed. I do my reading while I'm up.

I try to go to bed early if have to get up early and later if do not have to get up so early. I try to take my sleeping pill about 3-40 minutes before I go to sleep.

@Hannihar That's not pleasant at all. Have you always had this problem of not being able to sleep at night?

Brushing, flossing, getting the Kindle ready, making sure it is charged and the electric blanket is on.

I glance up at the clock and go "Well I should probably go to bed' and then turn the page and continue reading until it's "If I don't go to bed now I will sleep in too late o'clock"
No, honestly it varies for me. i brush my teeth at 9 pm and then get into bed and either come online (if I'm not already online) read, or watch youtube.

I we are happy doing what we do then I think all is fine. I was never happy with going to bed way too late.
I am beginning to appreciate the importance and the pleasure of going to bed at a decent time. It took me 68 years to get to this point.

@1hopefulman I am still in the space where it varies for me what time i go to bed. When I was working outside the home, i would go to bed at a certain time because I knew I needed my sleep. Now that I do not work outside the home, I still keep to somewhat of a schedule. I actually feel better when I go to sleep at whatever time I want though, instead of this silly schedule I have placed on myself.

I Will usually watch TV or read until 11:30 and go to bed. Most times I'm sleepy then and ready for some shuteye. I think our bodies know when we've run out of steam...
